Parisian apartment style "Emily in Paris"

Customer testimonial video

When we meet our American client for the first time, the Emily in Paris series creates a buzz.

Our American customer wantscreate a Parisian pied-à-terre “Emily in Paris” style.

He has just bought an apartment for his mother, who will spend a few months there a year, and asks us to review the circulation and all the interior layout.

He wants a colorful, Parisian and very personalized universe.

CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS

Our client, who loves Paris, has just purchased a bright apartment near the Canal Saint Martin.

He wants to transform the apartment and make it very Parisian and give it a very strong personality. Distance requires and because he has big responsibilities, he asks us to follow the construction site and completely furnish the apartment for him.

He wants to open the walls as much as possible and create two fireplaces. He really likes color and especially magenta. He wants a bright, blue kitchen.

His mother's favorite painting is “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat.

PROPOSALS FROM THE STUDIO

  • We are carrying out several feasibility studies to try to open the walls as much as possible.
  • We offer a colorful common thread throughout the apartment.
  • We select lighting and furniture from French brands
  • We are looking for original wallpapers evoking the Parisian universe
  • We suggest creating moldings and rosettes as in a Haussmann-style apartment to create a
    Parisian atmosphere
  • We hunt for pieces at the Saint Ouen flea market and at an antique dealer to bring old items.

ENTRANCE

An entrance that sets the colorful and pop tone of the apartment with the use of yellow and purple. The wallpaper of the roofs of Paris in black & white reminds us of the view from the windows. The flea market selection of a colorful poster on Paris and a multi-colored mirror adorn the hallway.

LIVING ROOM

The yellow of the entrance is repeated on the velvet convertible sofa and the purple on the colors of the cushions.
Custom-made cupboards are decorated with wallpaper featuring the Seurat painting in giant format.
The selection of original and unique pieces of furniture in plexiglass corresponds to two old-style armchairs found at an antique dealer and custom-upholstered in a French designer fabric.
Custom-made curtains with multicolored geometric patterns dress the windows and create a link with the neighboring room.

DINING ROOM / KITCHEN

An opening is created between the living room and the dining room.
A pretty table with a marble top and cane armchairs covered in magenta velvet, our client's favorite color.
The wallpaper of the Eiffel Tower in a snow globe is framed by pretty moldings.
A rose window is created and a modern chandelier-shaped light fixture illuminates the space.
The kitchen is blue and shiny.
A central island with pretty rounded shapes is custom-made and allows you to telework or entertain friends.
Rosettes of several sizes are arranged on the kitchen wall and add an original and chic decorative touch.
A fireplace is created and an old trumeau mirror is found by us to dress it up.

BEDROOM

We imagined a very feminine bedroom for Mom in shades of pink and purple.
Numerous custom-made storage units adorn the headboard and jewel-like lighting fixtures illuminate the niches.
The central pendant light positioned on a rosette gives a majestic appearance to the space;
A hidden laundry space in the closet is even created.

BATHROOM

A bathroom all in pink and gold.
The faucets, light fixtures, mirror and even the shower door are in gold.
A set of geometric tiles combined with pink mosaic brings touches of color.

Our client is delighted and so is his mother. Despite the distance, the mission went very smoothly with regular points. The trust was total. Our client even brought in an American television crew to tell the story of this purchase and renovation.
