THE PROJECT

A Colorful and Warm Family Home

Redevelopment and decoration of the upstairs of a family home to create a unique and welcoming place to receive family and friends in a little corner of paradise in the countryside.

THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THIS REAL ESTATE PROJECT

A couple of owners entrusted us with the country house they had just acquired with the mission of:

Decorate it to create a unique, original universe, in the image of their family and their roots
Create a “family home” atmosphere, a friendly and refreshing place
Create a family living room and a games room in an unfinished space.

THE INTERIOR ARCHITECT’S PROPOSAL

Propose settings using warm colors and reminiscent of the surrounding nature.
Use materials and accessories providing comfort and softness: wood, cushions, velvet, and a glass roof for light,

A FAMILY LIVING ROOM AND GAMES ROOM IN A TRAFFIC AREA

The objective for this circulation space serving the bedrooms on the upper floor of the house was to create two distinct, useful and comfortable areas for getting together as a family: a TV lounge and a games room, which could also be used as a bedroom. 'child. For the games room we chose to create a bright cube with mid-height partitions and natural oak workshop windows.
To create a cocooning TV lounge, we selected a large, very comfortable sofa covered in pretty yellow corduroy. This stands out on the wall painted midnight blue. Designer armchairs, in the style of a fireside chair, which can be assembled into a bench, allow more people to be accommodated during family evenings in front of a good film. The rug with geometric and colorful patterns echoes the colors of the furniture and walls. To punctuate this decor, colorful wall lights installed like a wall sculpture.

A LOUNGE WITH CHARACTER & FRIENDLY

For this large reception room, we chose to continue the use of deep green and garnet colors, and to bring softness with a lighter shade of green.
To bring light into this original and atypical universe, we played with materials and furniture.
A velvet sofa in lagoon blue hues, a duo of gilded brass chandeliers that are both modern and classic, a blue lacquered sideboard that is both chic and country with its cane doors, two large sculptural floor lamps that light and frame the fireplace majestic. Their yellow color recalls the rapeseed field facing the house. The final touch to this decoration is provided by blue tartan curtains as a nod to the owner's origins.

A PRACTICAL AND FRIENDLY KITCHEN/DINING ROOM

For these cooking lovers, who love entertaining the whole family for long weekends and vacations, it was essential to rethink the kitchen as a living space that was practical and friendly.
A kitchen in soft colors, with a mineral worktop that echoes the floor. And to bring it all to life, a very bright traditional lagoon blue earthenware.
To make the space friendly and a large oak table in a country-burnt wood look and modern at the same time.
A large showcase buffet ideal for setting out Sunday brunch.
And to light the room and complete the decoration, we have selected beautiful and large lighting fixtures in different styles.

THE ROOMS

For the rooms we have imagined a specific universe per room. We used soft colors always reminiscent of the surrounding outdoor nature.

So a room is in sunny yellow. We have selected furniture made from natural materials (wood, wool, leather) to provide a cocooning atmosphere.

A green bedroom uses the colors of the living room to create a link between the floors. In this bedroom, we chose a masonry-style headboard which gives a “chic and refined country” touch to the room.

THE ADDICTION

In the outbuilding of this beautiful house, the challenge was to create a music space on the ground floor while retaining the spirit of the original building. Upstairs, the request was to create a guest bedroom that would be welcoming and retain the water point and toilets. For this, we opted for a very bright mineral shade for the headboard, selected a revisited cement tile-style tiling for the bathroom area and found an old shutter door adapted on site to hide the toilet.
